General
So, Camizone is the first actual flash I've ever finished. I was originally working on something else, but the opportunity came up at school, and I though I should challenge myself. I think it came out pretty well all things considered.
Syncing:
Syncing the music turned out to be the hardest part of the animation. My advice? It's a bitch for your first try, but the results are definitely cool. I wouldn't recommend tackling it on the first try though.
Also, the song changed as the production went on. It was originally gonna be Tiny Tim's - Living in the Sunlight. I like Sing Sing Sing more though.
Total time:
It took me 2 months to make this, although almost half of it was animated in 2 weeks.
Translations:
Since I go to a Mexican high school, the text is obviously in Spanish. There are only 2 phrases really:
El fin a llegado, -killroy : The end is here, -killroy
Haciendo tu creatividad, realidad! : Making your creativity, a reality!
As for Camizone:
Cami : camiseta, which is Spanish for shirt.
Zone: Zone, same as English.
The project
The school has this program were you form a team, make a product and business, and participate in a competition. Actual businessmen come to see your products, and winners get to go to the state competition, then nationals. Our business was about making fast personalized t-shirts.
Competition results
My team actually ended in 5th place, despite being the only animated commercial. It turns out that the judges didn't like animation, though this was never mentioned in the rules. Also, 3 of the other commercials weren't made by the other teams, but by professionals they hired. One of them was a professionally made cancer commercial, there was no way I could beat that. Eh, there wasn't a prize anyways.
That's pretty much it, feel free to leave comments or questions.
